Our Story

Bicycle Parts Wholesale is proud of its history and its progression from a family business operating out of a garage into a respected supply partner for independent bicycle stores across Australia.

 

1986

The business began as Incomex Trading, a family business operating out of the family garage. The goal was to become a significant contributor to the Australian wholesale distribution of bicycle parts and accessories.

 

Finding a place in the market

With many years of international trade experience, Incomex Trading worked hard to build its place in the Australian bicycle industry. The business initially focused on products other wholesalers often avoided, including odd sizes, low volume products and everyday workshop necessities.

 

Growing into a warehouse

As the business grew, Incomex Trading moved from the family garage into a small warehouse in Clayton, Victoria. This marked an important step in the growth of the company.

 

2006

In 2006, Incomex Trading was sold when founder Paul Marin wished to retire. Under new ownership, the business became Bicycle Parts Wholesale, now known throughout the industry as BPW.

 

A new direction

From the first day under new ownership, BPW received valuable feedback from experienced bicycle retailers. The business quickly began improving product packaging and introducing barcoding across products.

 

Expanding the range

With a strong belief in the future of the cycling industry, BPW moved to larger premises and dramatically increased the range and depth of stock. The vision was to become a more important supply partner for independent bicycle stores.

 

Strategic acquisitions

A pivotal moment came when BPW acquired Bicycle Solutions, a specialist bicycle wheel building company and distributor of Gomier tricycles. In the years that followed, BPW also acquired Holstar and Bicycle Wholesalers, further strengthening its product range and industry position.

 

BPW today

Today, BPW is a modern professional wholesaler with a comprehensive product range, exclusive brand distribution, a catalogue known as "The Bible" in workshops and a B2B website fully integrated with stock and customer account systems.

Reliable supply and delivery

Orders are dispatched the same day or the next working day wherever possible. Our network of carrier companies helps deliver orders Australia wide, with most states receiving orders within 24 to 72 hours.

We work hard to negotiate best value freight options and pass those freight costs on to our customers fairly.

Our people make the difference

What we are most proud of is our wonderful, caring and knowledgeable team. Many staff members have been part of the BPW story for a long time, including team members from Incomex Trading, Bicycle Solutions, Holstar and Bicycle Wholesalers.

This experience gives BPW a strong foundation of product knowledge, industry understanding and customer support. Our more recent team members continue to add new skills, energy and ability to help us serve bicycle retailers throughout Australia.
